Tropical Storm Isaac

The Sarasota County Government has issued an Advisory for the storm for residents of Manasota Key:

Sarasota Country Emergency Operations is strongly recommending an evacuation of Manasota Key Residents.

Effects from Isaac are expected to be felt as early as 2am Monday Morning.

Residents should tune into Access TV on channel 19 with Comcast and channel 32 with Verizon for updates.

TIDES:
Tides and waves are expected to be +2 feet higher than during the Tropical Storm Debby event.

The 9am high tide on Monday August 27 is expected to be 2.9 feet with an additional 3 to 5 feet higher with storm surge.

Expect the preceding low tide to recede significantly prior to the 9am high tide due to the storm, do not be caught unaware.

RAIN:

Expect 4 to 7 inches of rain with 49 mph sustained winds for this event.

BRIDGES:

Manasota Key Drawbridge is open for vehicular traffic, but is now closed to marine traffic.
