Oil Spill Update - June 26 2010

Susan Scott, Sarasota County's Communication Director, stated that the County is planning to have community forums throughout the County including in Nokomis, Gulf Gate and other locations close to your areas. But if you are interested or knows anyone who may be interested, the following 2 meetings will be held next week on Siesta and are open to the public.
 
 
Community Forum – Answering questions on the oil spill

Sarasota County officials and representatives from the Coast Guard, NOAA, DEP, Fish and Wildlife Commission will be available to answer questions about the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, expected impacts on our area, and plans for protection and recovery.

Speakers: County Commissioner Nora Patterson and Emergency Management Chief Ed McCrane will provide a power point presentation on Sarasota’s proactive plans on handling possible oil spill impacts and hurricanes.
